A Bracelet on Her Right Hand

The dainty bracelet on Johansson's right wrist is the first of her Marvel tributes, as the charm is Thor's hammer. It also has a second more subtle tribute to her home city, as inscribed inside the hammer are the word, "I [heart] NY."

A Sunrise on Her Left Forearm

The Lucy actress's sunrise tattoo on her left forearm is her only piece of body art with colorful ink. It depicts a rising sun among a cluster of clouds and an ocean. "I've had the tattoo of a sunrise on my arm for a while," she said, according toZimbio. "It makes me happy when I look at it, but the reason I had it done is very personal. Some things have to remain private."

The Avengers Logo on Her Right Bicep

(Almost all) the Avengers suited up and headed over to celebrity tattoo artist Josh Lord to commemorate the superhero franchise that brought them together with the Avengers logo. Lord cluedRevolver Magazineinto his process, sharing that he personalized each actor's piece. "There's a symbol for everybody in the movie hidden in there. Their initials are also all hidden in there," he said. Johansson got hers on her right bicep.

Robert Downey Jr. also got inked, and shared some more insight into the bonding experience. "Five of the original six Avengers got a tattoo. And the sixth was the tattoo artist, who gave it to five of us, the one who opted out being Mark Ruffalo," the actor toldEntertainment Weekly. "It was Johansson's idea, and she and Evans did it in New York. Then, their New York guy, Josh Lord, who is amazing, flew out to Los Angeles, he did me, did Renner, and then we just bullied Hemsworth into doing it, and he got it."

An Owl on Her Ribcage

On the right side of her ribcage, The Outset founder has an intricate flying owl. She has yet to speak on the piece's significance.

Roses and a Lamb on Her Back

Johansson's back tattoo is by far the piece that gets the most attention. The tat, which depicts a vine of roses curving around a detailed baby lamb, made its debut at the 2018 Met Gala. Fans have gotten better glimpses over the years, including at the April 2019 premiere of Avengers: Endgame, thanks to the actress's penchant for low and sheer backs. The Don Jon star hasn't spoken about the body art, but her daughter is named Rose Dorothy Dauriac.

In honor of the premiere, Lord posted a carousel of images gushing over Johansson, who has become one of his dear friends over the years. "I’ve gotten to tattoo (and GET tattoos from) this perfect, kind and ridiculously talented lady for almost a DECADE! I won’t show her tattoos but I will repost them when she shows them off!!" he captioned the photos.

"Lucky You" and a Horseshoe on Her Back

High up on her right back, Johansson has an upside-down horseshoe with the words "Lucky You" and small stars, which she had done by French tattooist and graffiti artist Fuzi Uvtpk. Daily Mailreported that she got the tat in Paris back in 2012.

A Rose on Her Ribcage

On the other side of her ribcage, the Academy Award nominee has a smaller detailed rose, which may be another nod to her daughter.

Interlocked Circles on Her Ankle

One of Johansson's more subtle tattoos includes interlocking circles with an "A" on her right ankle. She has remained mum on what or who the A refers to.
